Chorney & Millard LLP
Colorado Trust and Estate Planning Lawyers

Chorney & Millard LLP was formed in October 2005 when Marc A. Chorney and Kevin D. Millard combined their practices. Marc and Kevin have invaluable experience in the practice of estate planning, probate, and trust law.

Chorney & Millard practices in the following areas:

  • Estate Planning. Estate planning is helping a client plan for the disposition of the client's estate to the persons the client wishes to benefit, at the time and in the manner the client wishes, and with the least possible death taxes and other death costs.

  • Planning for Incapacity. Planning for incapacity includes helping a client plan for the management of the client's assets and health care in the event the client becomes incapacitated, and for the management of assets for, and care of, minor children, incapacitated parents, or beneficiaries with special needs.

  • Marital Agreements. The firm advises clients about and prepares pre-nuptial agreements and post-nuptial agreements.

  • Estate and Trust Administration. The firm represents clients who act as an executor, estate administrator, or trustee by advising the client about the client's responsibilities, preparing court filings and tax returns, and assisting the client with the administration and distribution of the estate or trust.

  • Business Planning. The firm advises clients concerning their businesses by:

    • Helping the client create and maintain a business or investment entity, such as a corporation, partnership, or limited liability company;

    • Helping the client buy or sell a business;

    • If the business is a family business that will be passed on to other family members, helping the client develop and implement a plan to pass the business on to the selected children or other family members; and

    • Helping the client develop and implement a buy and sell agreement or other plan for the disposition of the client's interest in the business at the client's death, disability, or retirement.

  • Expert Witness. Both of the firm's principals serve as expert witnesses in litigation involving trusts and estates.
